3M™ Impact Protection Attachment (IPA) Sealant

3M™ Impact Protection Attachment (IPA) Sealant significantly enhances the overall effectiveness and durability of 3M™ Safety & Security Window Films. This specially formulated product acts as a window film attachment sealant, commonly known as a “wet glaze,” designed to firmly anchor the window film to the frame of glass windows or glass doors. When used in combination with the appropriate 3M™ window film, the IPA Sealant helps to securely hold broken glass within the window or door frame, thereby reducing the risk and occurrence of flying glass shards in a variety of situations, including:
• Spontaneous glass breakage incidents
• Break and entry or burglary attempts
• Seismic activities such as earthquakes
• Both intentional and accidental explosions
• Windstorms or protection against impact from wind-borne debris
• Safety glazing applications involving annealed glass

• Offers excellent tear resistance, elongation capacity, and tensile strength for lasting performance

It is important to note that for all windstorm protection, break and entry prevention, explosion mitigation, and spontaneous glass breakage situations on single-pane tempered glass, the 3M™ Impact Protection Attachment (IPA) Sealant must be installed alongside the window film. However, this product is not bulletproof and is not designed to fully prevent intrusion by determined attackers.
